Piper Mark Taylor
The Tradition
Mark Taylor is a dedicated professional bagpiper with deep roots in the City of Edinburgh. His piping journey commenced aged 9 learning with South Queensferry & District Pipe Band - who practised underneath the Forth Bridge. Moving to Craigmount High School Novice-Juvenile band aged 12 under the musical tuition of Jennifer Hutcheon. He has played in a number of civilian pipe bands over his 41 years of playing and currently plays for Stockbridge Pipe Band under the musical direction of Pipe Major Mark Bennett.
Mark has played at a broad range of venues including St Margarets Chapel, Hopetoun House, The Balmoral Hotel, The Caledonian Hotel and St Giles Cathedral.
His passion for highland music is defined by a commitment to preserving the art of the bagpipes, bringing a refined and formal gravity to weddings, funerals, and high-end formal events. With years of experience, he ensures that every performance is a testament to heritage and artisanal excellence, providing a unique and memorable auditory experience for his clients.
